What to expect
I started Dumova Tennis because I saw a need in our area: a
place where players don’t just “hit balls,” but learn proper
mechanics, disciplined footwork, and competitive habits that
translate into real match results, whether they’re brand new or
working toward Varsity and beyond.
My tennis journey began at
age 9, and by 12 I was competing at the national level. I went
on to become a nationally ranked junior, compete internationally
on the ITF circuit, and reach US Open qualifying. I later played
Division I tennis at San Diego State University, served as team
captain, and competed at the NCAA level for four years as a
scholar-athlete.
Today, I’m proud to be a Sacred Heart Coach for
the JV A and 5/6th grade tennis teams. My focus is building a
true pipeline of confident, technically sound, match-ready
players from Pre-K through 12th grade. The Dumova Tennis pathway
is intentionally designed: foundational stroke development →
rally tolerance and consistency → point construction and match
play → Varsity readiness. For athletes with bigger goals, we
also train the skills that matter for USTA competition and
high-performance development: footwork patterns, pace tolerance,
decision- making under pressure, and strong competitive
routines. Parents can expect clear standards, structured
progressions, and measurable improvement so players know exactly
what they’re working on each week.
For younger players, training
is age-appropriate, structured, and fun, using QuickStart-based
progressions that build real technique right away:
continental/eastern grips, clean swing paths, early preparation,
balance, and efficient recovery steps. As players grow, we add
the “next level” tools: split-step timing, spacing and
contact-point awareness, directional control (crosscourt vs
down-the-line), serving and returning fundamentals, smart shot
selection, and confidence in points. So by the time tryouts and
team placement matter, they’re not “starting tennis”, they’re
prepared to compete.
If you’re looking for a program where your
daughter will be coached with clarity, standards, and a
long-term plan—this is it. Choose her age/level below to reserve
a spot for indoor training. Most families see the strongest
progress with 2x/week for beginners and 2–3x/week for
competitive players. Spots are limited to keep coaching ratios
high.
